Dennis Fisher

Since the summer of 2005, Dennis Fisher has been infusing Our Daily Bread with illustrations from history, literature, and science—several subjects near and dear to his heart. He’s also introduced readers to often-forgotten heroes of the faith.

Dennis received Jesus as his Savior at a church meeting in Southern California. “The gospel was very clear and I came under terrible conviction of sin,” he says. “After receiving Christ, I felt like I had taken a shower on the inside. There was a new connection with God when I prayed, and the Bible became exciting reading.”

Later, as a young adult, Dennis felt the need to be trained in God's Word. His thirst for the Word led him to Bible college and seminary. After serving on campus ministries and with church pastoral staff for 10 years, he became the professor of Evangelism and Discipleship at Moody Bible Institute for 8 years.

In 1998 Dennis joined RBC Ministries, where he has served as an international shipper, team leader of biblical correspondence, and currently as research editor for the publishing team. “Our Daily Bread was an encouragement to me during a time of trial and now it is a privilege to write for the devotional,” says Dennis. “I’m impressed by my publishing colleagues’ commitment to biblical accuracy.”

Dennis has two adult children and one grandson. He lives with his wife Janet in Rockford, Michigan.
