This past basketball season was special for the University of Kansas for many reasons. The Jayhawks made an inspired run to the NCAA title game on Monday night in San Antonio. Head coach Bill Self was finally able to throw off the shadow cast by former Kansas coach Roy Williams.

To further emphasize that point, Self and Kansas beat Williams and North Carolina in Saturday's semi-final game. 

Walk-on forward Matt Kleinmann joined the Kansas program three years ago and along with many of his Kansas born teammates he feels as though he’s “living the dream”. But Kansas basketball is special to this player for another reason. As a freshman he was lead to make a life changing decision by a teammate. Matt calls it a defining factor.
