New Year's weekend is the best for college football. New Year's Day and New Year's weekend bowl games have become the traditional way to start off the year.
On this week’s Sports Spectrum we visit with one of the best young college football coaches in the country, he’s Todd Graham of Tulsa University. The Golden Hurricane had a 10 win season and will play Ball State in the GMAC Bowl on Jan. 6th.
Todd is an ambitious coach who knows that there’s more to coaching than winning and losing. His win at all cost attitude was changed by a relationship with Christ, he shares his perspective.
We also talk with another outstanding young head football coach, Greg Schiano of Rutgers University. Rutgers has been one of the most improved programs in the Big East for the last three years. It was quite a turnaround for Rutgers this season after a discouraging start. The Scarlet Knights finished the season by winning seven in a row and winning a bowl game over N. C. State.
We also talk with an assistant football coach at West Virginia University, Dave Johnson. Dave is a former assistant coach at Georgia. In addition to talking about West Virginia’s football program we explore dealing with ego. We ponder an important principle in sports that may be useful in everyday relationships as well.
We also take your phone call to hear your pick for the Super Bowl. Tell us the team that will win the NFC and the team that will win the AFC. Enjoy a great weekend of football conversation on the next Sports Spectrum Saturday.
